Seattle - April 2010

Hello from Seattle.

The breaktaking Mt Ranier and other beautiful ranges provided quite a welcome as my plane descended into Washington about an hour ago. Now, I can see the Space Needle from my hotel window, along with breathtaking views of the Northwest's beauty, including Lake Union, Puget Sound, and the Olympic and Cascade mountain ranges..

Here to plan our November meeting, I'm proud of myself for resisting the temptation and not venturing outdoors, where the weather is beautiful. And on the way in, the cab passed Nordstrom, Barney's New York -- you get the idea. Fabulous shopping right out the door of our meeting hotel. And Pikes Place Market is nearby too.

Now is the time to double check your calendar. Make sure that you've carved out a bit of time in the next few days to work on your submission for the 2011 NAPCRG Annual Meeting. Seattle is simply a can't miss city.

NAPCRG University

Attendees had the opportunity to experience NAPCRG University on Tuesday afternoon at the NAPCRG annual meeting. The event highlighted and promoted NAPCRG's resources and services, and encouraged attendees to become involved in the organization. A university theme and decor (complete with cheerleaders) helped create a fun atmosphere as attendees learned more about NAPCRG.

NAPCRG annual meeting attendees enjoyed a fun-filled evening of conversation, French themed dessert and local music at "A Taste of Quebec" Dessert Party at the Le Windsor Ballroom in Montreal.

Posters, papers and primary care researchers are all under one roof this week for NAPCRG's annual meeting. There have been two action-packed days so far and much more to come. Below are some photo highlights to date...

James, Lenny and Anup, NAPCRG Resident and Fellow Board members in 2008, returned to the Annual Meeting to present a "Reverse Mentoring Sesssion" on social networking and Web 2.0. All generations were enlighted by their presentation.

President Allen Dietrich always makes a point to talk to every Resident and Fellow presenting a poster.

Sunday in Montreal -- such inspiration!

First day of conference a success!
Richard Wender started the day with a very inspirational plenary.

Lots of energy in the poster session.

Bob Phillips, Hope Wittenberg and Inese Grava-Gubbins received the President's Award from Allen Dietrich, who also highlighted primary care successes in his President's Address.

The adored Ann Macaulay received the prestigious Wood Award (and was introduced by the one and only Maurice Wood himself).

Standing room only in "Secrets of My Research Success."
